Job Opportunity: Community Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse (Casual)

As a Community Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse, you'll provide essential clinical support, particularly in diabetes management, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and medication assistance, while ensuring the client's safety, dignity, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diabetes Management: Monitor the client's blood glucose levels as prescribed and use appropriate clinical judgement to identify and respond to any concerns or changes in the client's condition.
- Insulin Administration: Check the prescribed insulin dose, follow the appropriate clinical and medication safety procedures, and administer the correct insulin injection as prescribed.
- Medication Assistance: Assist the client with taking prescribed medications from a Webster medication pack, in accordance with the medication chart, care plan, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Client-Centered Care: Build a trusting relationship with the client, ensuring their rights to privacy, independence, and decision-making are respected. Tailor care to meet the client's clinical, emotional, and personal needs.
- Effective Communication: Communicate with the client, their family, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care. Report and escalate any concerns regarding the client's health or medication management as required.
- High Standards of Clinical Care: Utilise evidence-based practice to deliver high-quality nursing care and ensure all support complies with relevant Australian healthcare standards, legislation, and company policies.
- Continuous Assessment: Regularly assess and monitor the client's condition and communicate any changes to the Clinical Officer/Coordinator or relevant healthcare professional.
- Clinical Judgement and Documentation: Apply appropriate nursing judgement, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and follow the client's care plan and medication orders.
- Ethical Practice: Adhere to legal obligations, AHPRA/NMBA requirements, privacy legislation, medication safety requirements, and professional standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration OR relevant qualification and current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse
- CPR and First Aid certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving history
- Knowledge of safe work practices and a commitment to continuing professional development
- Experience or knowledge in diabetes management, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and medication assistance
- Excellent clinical judgement, time management, interpersonal skills, and empathy
