Full Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista / Front of House Supervisor to join the team at Convoy Commune in Merewether.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, loves specialty coffee, and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

As our Head Barista / FOH Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations while maintaining the high coffee standards Convoy Commune is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead and support the front-of-house team during service
Lead coffee service and maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
Support, train and mentor baristas and floor staff
Ensure smooth daily operations, manage an efficient workflow and maintain high service standards, especially during busy periods
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient café environment
Assist with stock control, ordering, and open/close procedures
Deliver warm, genuine customer service, handle customer enquiries and build relationships with regulars
Maintain a positive, respectful and fun team culture and professional work environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous experience as a senior barista, head barista, or café supervisor with strong coffee knowledge and skills
Can confidently handle high-volume coffee service while maintaining quality
Has strong leadership and communication skills
Is confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment, leads by example and brings a positive attitude to every shift
Is organised, reliable, proactive and solutions-focused
Able to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
Has a genuine passion for hospitality, specialty coffee and the people we serve
Holds full Australian working rights
Available to work weekends and public holidays as required

Salary package of $70,000 – $80,000 per year + super, based on experience
