About the role

Reporting to the General Counsel, this role provides professional legal advice and support across a broad range of matters to support the parliamentary departments.

Provide clear, practical and risk-based legal advice across areas including property and leasing, contracts and procurement, statutory interpretation and privacy
Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal documents, including commercial leases and contracts
Undertake legal research and analysis and respond to a high volume of legal requests in a timely manner

About you

You are a practising lawyer with strong analytical capability and sound judgement, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities.

Experience providing legal advice in areas such as property, leasing, contracts or procurement
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legislation in a practical, risk-based way
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
