About The Role
We are currently looking for a Lawyer /Associate (3+ years’ PQE) to join our Corporate & Private clients practice group to work alongside Partners Greg Hipwell and Elizabeth Lilley who leads our Private Equity Practice in Melbourne. The role will involve providing advice across private M&A matters, negotiating joint ventures and shareholders agreements and general commercial advice.
Working with a diverse portfolio of international and Australian clients including private equity, founders, and large private and listed companies., this role offers the opportunity to do complex M&A work in a supportive and collaborative team. In particular, Maddocks has a significant practice acting for private equity funds and a key aspect of this role will be for the candidate to work with Elizabeth Lilley to service their requirements in our Melbourne office.
About You
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in a corporate or commercial private practice team.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have also have the following skills and experience:
- Strong advisory, drafting and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills; ability to deal with a diverse range of clients in different industries/backgrounds
- Great project management skills and ability to effectively build external and internal relationships
Supervising and mentoring junior members
