Full Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are recruiting a full-time Residential Key Worker for one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) complexes located in Leumeah. As the primary on-site contact, the Residential Key Worker delivers person-centred support to participants and ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the complex.

TheresidentialKey Worker supports participants to live the life they choose respecting their rights, preferences, and individual goals. This includes supporting access to community activities, community-to-community programs, and informed decision-making in line with each participant's NDIS support plan.

The residential Key Worker ensures services remain aligned with each participant's NDIS goals, monitoring outcomes and identifying any changes in participant needs or circumstances.

The residential Key Worker responds to day-to-day inquiries and provides routine updates to key stakeholders, including behaviour support practitioners, occupational therapists, nurses, support coordinators, families, and the NSW Public Guardian where applicable.

The residential Key Worker ensures accurate and timely completion of all required documentation including shift notes from all support workers, incident reports, and medication charts with prompt escalation to the Residential Care Coordinator and relevant professionals when required.

The role also supports coverage of last-minute shift vacancies to ensure consistent, high-quality support is maintained at all times.

This is a permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday (no weekends) from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

ABOUT YOU

Hold a qualification in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (completed or currently working towards).
Have experience supporting participants with a range of mental health conditions, psychosocial disabilities, and physical disabilities.
Possess training and experience in high-intensity support tasks, including PEG feeding, complex bowel care, and manual handling.
Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support and exceptional customer service through written, telephone, and face-to-face communication.
Able to communicate clearly and adapt your style depending on the audience.
Demonstrate a collaborative approach to teamwork, with a willingness to assist and support colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for participants.
Possess strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to complete administrative tasks accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
Knowledgeable about the NDIS, NSW Mandatory Reporting Requirements, the Children and Young Persons Act, Disability Service Act, WHS principles, and associated standards.
Professional, acting with honesty, integrity, and genuine concern for client well-being.
Able to quickly build rapport with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Sensitive to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals and committed to a strong work ethic.
