Australian Mentoring Services (AMS) is looking for a confident and solutions-focused After Hours Team Leader (On-Call) to provide leadership and operational support to our frontline Mentor team outside of standard business hours.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills in rostering, incident management and operational decision-making while ensuring our participants continue to receive safe, high-quality support across evenings, weekends and public holidays.
As our After Hours Team Leader (On-Call), you'll be the first point of contact for our frontline Mentors after hours, providing guidance, support and practical solutions when they need them most.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our services continue to operate safely and effectively outside of business hours.
- Providing leadership and support to frontline Mentors during after-hours operations.
- Managing roster changes and arranging shift coverage where required.
- Responding to incidents and escalating matters appropriately.
- Supporting team members with PRN medication, restrictive practices and participant-related enquiries.
- Ensuring decisions align with AMS policies, NDIS Practice Standards and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Liaising with leaders and key stakeholders to ensure continuity of participant support.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and effective communication throughout your shift.
This is a hybrid position, combining office-based work from our Campbelltown Head Office with after-hours on-call responsibilities.
This position operates on a fortnightly rotating roster, with responsibility for after-hours support from 4:00pm Friday through to 11:00am Monday.
Your shift begins with a Friday afternoon handover (4:00pm – 7:00pm) and concludes with a Monday morning handover (8:00am – 11:00am).
You'll work alongside one other After Hours Team Leader, with weekend coverage alternating between the two positions on a rotating roster. During your rostered weekend, you'll complete scheduled support shifts alongside on-call responsibilities, ensuring continuous leadership and support for our frontline teams.

We're looking for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys solving problems and is passionate about supporting both participants and colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in the disability, community services or care sector.
- Previous leadership, Senior Mentor, Team Leader or Coordinator experience (highly regarded).
- A strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards, Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices.
- Experience with rostering or workforce coordination.
- Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Confidence working independently and making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Current Driver Licence.
