About the company

We are an Australian company specializing in dangerous goods packaging, forensic supplies, and compliance solutions. With more than 30 years of industry experience, the company supports law enforcement agencies, forensic laboratories, investigative organizations, and businesses that handle hazardous materials. We manufacture and supply ISO 18385-certified forensic and DNA collection kits, roadside policing products, and compliant dangerous goods packaging systems. The company is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 18385 standards and provides services such as dangerous goods consultancy, training, product classification, packaging selection, and labelling support.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality systems and drive continuous improvement across our operations. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for maintaining our ISO 9001 and ISO 18385 certified quality management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality forensic supplies and dangerous goods packaging solutions.

The successful candidate will oversee internal audits, manage corrective and preventive actions, monitor quality performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational excellence. Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Location of work: 44 Stephen Road, Dandenong South, Vic - 3175

Employment time: Permanent, Full time

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus guaranteed superannuation

Main Responsibilities:

· In-charge of completing quality checks of components to be used in DNA kits and Forensic kits by examining for any damages and gathering product information (expiry dates, batch number, reference numbers, etc.)

· Maintain and control the organization’s quality documentation library, including SOPs, clean-room guidelines, and kit-packing QA records. In addition, reviewing documents such as sterilization records, shipping logs, clean-room cleaning logs, every week or as necessary.

· Oversee version control of kit assembly procedures, design on kits labels as per customer's requirements, and completion of quality control forms, ensuring that only up-to-date documents are in circulation during production of DNA and forensic kits.

· Independently plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits in alignment with ISO 9001 and ISO 18385 standards, encompassing process reviews, documentation checks, and review of operations.

· Prepare structured, evidence-based audit reports, supporting transparency and accountability across operational areas

· Review findings from previous external audit cycles, collate supporting documentation, and verify that all kit assembly procedures, work instructions, and QA records are current and compliant.

· Organizes sterilization of Forensic kits (Toxicology, Sexual Assault Investigation kits, Forensic Medical Examination kits, Decontamination kits, and Buccal DNA testing kits) and ensuring that sterilization results comply with the requirements of the clients and ISO standards.

· Prepare detailed Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) outlining the nature of each deviation, contributing factors, and root causes where identifiable.

· Recommend corrective and preventive actions and quality training programs, according to the NCRs that have been raised, and track implementation progress through to closure.

· Maintain accurate NCR records to support trend analysis, audit readiness, and continuous organization-wide improvement initiatives.

· Utilize a Root Cause Analysis approach in investigation of non-conformance and process failures to develop and implement Corrective and Preventative Actions to minimize and eradicate possibility of reoccurrence and improve Hazpak's overall quality management system.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with the Operations team leader to lead the operations team and organize discussion on insights on current operations and implementing sustainable solutions if necessary.

· Liaise with suppliers to verify that incoming materials and components meet defined quality specifications. Additionally, ensure that all services such as system maintenance of biological cabinets, sterilization of forensics kits, and analysis of the clean-room environment is conducted in timely and appropriate manner as per ISO 18385 specifications.

· Investigate quality or delivery discrepancies, raise customer and supplier NCRs where required and close-off on verification of corrective actions.

· Engage with customers to address product or service enquiries, investigate quality-related complaints, and ensure timely resolution.

· Document customer feedback within the QA system and identify patterns that may require corrective or preventive action.

· Conduct systematic reviews of non-conformances, audit observations, improvement opportunities identified across audit cycles.

· Investigate audit findings, NCRs, and process insights into evidence-based corrective action planning with assigned responsibilities and target completion dates, to support sustained compliance.

· General QA coordination tasks to support smooth day to day functioning of the quality management system, specifically with documenting information of (Barcode numbers, expiry date and lot numbers, etc.) supplies used in for each kit for QA records.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment may substitute for formal education.

Experience:

● At least 1 year experience as a Quality Assurance Manager

● Proven experience in quality control, regulatory compliance, and inventory management.

Abilities/Attributes:

● Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

● Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

● Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and suppliers.
