1 physically strong Pastry Cooks required for wholesale bakery in Dandenong South VIC 3175

Pay: $28 per hour (up to $36 per hour depending on experience and qualifications)

Full-time, 7am – 3pm Monday – Friday

Fergys is well-established wholesale bakery that for 30 years has supplied quality, baked pastry and bread products to the hospitality and retail sectors. Our team of 140 employees are from many different cultures and backgrounds. We are passionate, energetic, hard-working and strive for excellence.

We create a large range of delicious pastries and cakes: croissants, danishes, tarts, slices, muffins, artisan breads, cakes, donuts, and more!

The role:

We are seeking a Pastry Cook for mixing, weighing, following recipes, including lifting 25kg bags of ingredients, depositing, prepping tray, piping, spatula use. There will be thorough training on the job. Food manufacturing experience and culinary arts qualifications essential. Team leading experience an advantage.

The role will require lifting 25kg (e.g., sacks of flour) multiple times throughout the shift. You will be working in a team, assisting in the manufacturing of cakes, slices, muffins, banana bread and more. As a wholesaler, we make large batches of any one item.

The very best candidates will already have mixing and weighing experience, gained from working in a fast-paced food production bakery environment, relevant qualifications, and team leading experience. Employees are encouraged to expand and improve their range of skills in the industry, with the potential for advancement within the company.

Essential characteristics:

. physically strong, able to repeatedly lift 25 kg.

. 2 or more years experience in a bakery production team

.culinary qualifications

· excellent written and spoken English

· ability to follow recipes

· ability to accurately fill out HACP paperwork (batch records with ingredient information)

· detail orientated, consistently taking great pride in your work

· a passion for baking

· ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment

· ability to use equipment safely

· able to start shifts from 7am, Monday to Friday, working 38 hours
