Position Vacant – Sheetmetal Specialist / Senior Estimator

Full-time permanent office-based role – up to $100k base salary to start
Minimum 42-hour work week: 7:30am – 4:30pm (Mon-Thu), 7:30am-4pm (Fri)
Team-wide monthly targets and financial bonus scheme after probation

About Express Metal Products:

Express Metal Products is an Australian family-owned, state of the art laser cutting and folding facility in Meadowbrook, Brisbane. Our capability has proudly serviced the domestic manufacturing industry for more than a decade. We have a reputation of providing quality and consistent service, especially for mission critical applications.

Express is increasing the size of the indirect Drafting and Estimating team with a view to capitalise on existing investments and finalise implementation of our bending automation solution. Express is on the path to lights-out bending.

About the Role:

On a day-to-day basis you will be interpreting technical drawings and designs. Responsible for the development and drawing of bespoke parts whilst applying our tried and tested manufacturing and engineering solutions. With our proven track record of meeting and exceeding client expectations, you can be confident in delivering exceptional service, receiving support from our production team. , and your ability to develop lasting industry relationships.

Key Requirements:

Demonstrated commitment to exceptional service delivery and response to the mission critical requirements of our community
Excellent time management skills, ensuring prompt and efficient handling of requests while also satisfying urgent and critical project requirements (triage)
Keen attention to detail, with a track record of identifying, documenting, and resolving quality-related issues – the successful candidate rarely makes the same mistake twice
Strong computer literacy, confidence working across multiple IT applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to quickly identify and propose solutions to key stakeholder engineering challenges
Industry experience in both AutoCAD and Inventor in the development of sheet metal solutions is required – engineering graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Highly Regarded Skills and Experience:

Proven industry experience in sheet metal cutting, folding and rolling manufacture, with a working knowledge of domestic raw materials
Proficiency in the AutoDesk suite, particularly AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) including the ability to develop flat patterns
Extensive experience in interpreting and creation of technical drawings to facilitate manufacture.
