We are now seeking a dedicated Sous Chefs to join our aged care teams at our Residential Facilities across our five locations in Magill, Prospect and Elizabeth and our Adelaide Hills locations in Summerhill and Woodside at to help deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals that bring comfort, enjoyment, and wellbeing to our residents.

About the Role

As our Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare and deliver meals that meet dietary needs, cultural considerations, and individual preferences of residents. You’ll play a key role in supporting day‑to‑day kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a warm, positive dining experience.

Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and meal service.
Ensure meals are prepared to a high standard, meeting nutritional and dietary requirements (including texture modified or specialised diets).
Oversee kitchen staff during shifts and provide hands‑on training and support.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and aged‑care industry standards.
Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
Contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and resident‑focused kitchen environment.
Experienced and sound understanding of International Dysphagia Diet
Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI)

About You

You are a highly experienced Sous Chef with previous experience in an aged care or healthcare setting. With excellent communication and teamwork skills and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

A genuine passion for improving the daily lives of residents through quality food will see you successful in this dynamic and rewarding role.

What you will bring

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or equivalent)
HLTSS00061 – Food Safety Supervision Skill Set – for community services and health industries; or
SITSS00069 – Food Safety Supervision Skill Set
Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Standards, with particular regard to Standard 6 Food and Nutrition
Current or a willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance (Aged care/Vulnerable)
