We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Demi Chef to join our talented Pastry Kitchen on a full-time basis.
Working alongside the Head Pastry Chef and senior pastry team, you'll play an integral role in producing exceptional pastry products across premium hospitality, major events, corporate functions, conferences, restaurants and retail outlets. What you'll be doing
- Prepare, cook and present a wide range of high-quality pastry products including cakes, desserts, tarts, pastries, breads, petit fours, chocolates, confectionery and ice creams.
- Produce pastry items for major events, premium hospitality venues, corporate functions, conferences, restaurants and daily food service operations.
- Ensure all products are prepared and presented to consistently high standards of quality, taste, appearance and portion control.
- Follow established recipes, preparation methods and production schedules to ensure consistency across all hospitality operations.
- Contribute creative ideas towards seasonal menus and event-specific pastry offerings while supporting the senior pastry team with product development.
- Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef, Pastry Sous Chef and Pastry Chef de Partie to support the efficient day-to-day operation of a high-volume pastry kitchen.
To be successful in Adelaide Oval’s Pastry Kitchen, you will have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent trade qualification relevant to pastry production.
- Relevant post-qualification experience in a commercial pastry kitchen, or an equivalent combination of formal training and substantial industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience producing a broad range of pastry and dessert products within a high-volume commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of contemporary pastry techniques, food presentation standards and commercial kitchen operations.
- A strong understanding of food safety legislation, HACCP principles and safe food handling practices.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines.

This is a full-time position and requires flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, public holidays and major event days.
