Supply and Distribution Manager

Big Ben Specialty Foods Pty Ltd
Location: Dingley Village, VIC

Salary: $85,000 per annum + superannuation

About the Role

Big Ben Specialty Foods is seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to manage and coordinate the purchasing, inventory, storage and distribution of goods across our operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining efficient supply and distribution operations, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained, coordinating suppliers and logistics activities, and identifying opportunities to improve inventory, warehouse and distribution processes.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop, implement and monitor purchasing, inventory, storage and distribution strategies and procedures.
Develop and implement inventory plans to maintain required stock levels while managing purchasing, storage and distribution costs.
Monitor stock requirements, sales and inventory data to forecast supply needs and ensure timely replenishment.
Liaise and negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, product quality, availability, supply requirements and delivery schedules.
Monitor and review inventory and warehouse systems to maintain stock accuracy, meet supply requirements and control stock levels.
Oversee systems and processes for recording and tracking the receipt, storage, movement and distribution of goods.
Monitor inventory movements and coordinate the timely re-ordering and replenishment of stock.
Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound distribution activities, including delivery schedules, transportation and order fulfilment.
Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, customers and logistics providers regarding purchasing, stock availability, orders and distribution requirements.
Oversee the recording and reconciliation of purchasing, storage, inventory and distribution transactions.
Review warehouse and distribution processes and implement improvements to operational efficiency, workflow, space utilisation and fulfilment accuracy.
Monitor supply chain and distribution performance, including inventory accuracy, product availability and on-time delivery.
Coordinate and oversee staff involved in warehouse, inventory and distribution activities, including allocating responsibilities and monitoring performance.
Maintain appropriate quality control procedures for the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
Prepare inventory, supply chain and distribution reports and provide recommendations to management regarding operational improvements and cost control.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Relevant qualifications in supply chain, logistics, business, management or a related discipline and/or substantial relevant industry experience.
Experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory, warehousing or distribution operations.
Sound knowledge of inventory management, stock control, purchasing, warehousing and distribution processes.
Experience using inventory management and/or ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Experience liaising with suppliers and coordinating logistics and distribution requirements.
Strong planning and organisational skills.
Leadership experience and the ability to coordinate and oversee operational staff.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, logistics providers and internal stakeholders.

Experience within FMCG, food distribution, wholesale or a similar environment will be highly regarded.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain and logistics professional to take responsibility for the effective management and continuous improvement of Big Ben Specialty Foods' supply, inventory, warehouse and distribution operations.
