About the Role
We're looking for an experienced
Sourcing Manager overseeing Commodities, Fruit & Vegetables to join our Procurement team. This is a commercially focused role responsible for leading sourcing strategies, supplier partnerships and category management across key commodity portfolios, ensuring we continue to deliver safe, high-quality ingredients at the best value for our business.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be working closely with Operations, Planning, Innovation, Quality and Finance. You'll play a critical role in supporting business growth, strengthening supplier relationships and managing supply risk across our manufacturing network. Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across Commodities, Fruit & Vegetables.
- Lead supplier negotiations, contract management and commercial agreements.
- Drive cost optimisation through strategic sourcing and total cost of ownership principles.
- Build strong supplier partnerships that support innovation, quality, food safety and continuity of supply.
- Manage supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain, commercial and commodity risks.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Planning, Operations, Innovation, Quality and Finance.
- Support new product development through supplier onboarding and ingredient sourcing.
- Ensure procurement activities align with Patties Food Group governance, Delegations of Authority and Procurement Policy.
- Other ad hoc duties as per directed.
About You
You'll be a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering tangible business outcomes.
You'll also bring:
- Experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management within FMCG, food manufacturing or a related industry.
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing contracts and supplier performance.
- Sound financial and analytical skills with the ability to identify value creation opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing supply risk and business continuity planning.
- Knowledge of procurement governance, supplier onboarding and contract management.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (CIPS or similar qualifications highly regarded).
- Experience sourcing food ingredients, fresh produce or agricultural commodities will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to international supplier networks, particularly Chinese suppliers, coupled with Mandarin language skills will be viewed favourably.
