Primary objective
Provide high level support in executive, secretariat, administrative and financial management, human resources, project
coordination and asset management for the Territory Regions Branch and Central Australia region.

Context Statement
The Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet’s purpose is to deliver coordinated policy and priority reform, regional
leadership, and high-quality support to Executive Government. Through the Territory Regions Branch, the Department has a
regional network of teams across the Territory that provide leadership and policy coordination across and beyond the NT public
sector. This position reports to the Director, Regional Strategy and Coordination and supports the General Manager – Territory
Regions and Central Australia office.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage business processes, monitoring and reporting in the Central Australia office, including diary and

travel management for the Senior Director Central Australia and General Manager -Territory Regions.
2. Assist in monitoring and reporting on annual budgets, human resources, recruitment and selection processes and changes

consistent with the Northern Territory Public Sector.
3. Assist the Senior Director and General Manager with managing workflow and streamlining business processes.
4. Provide secretariat to the Central Australia Regional Coordination Committee and other key stakeholder meetings.
5. Undertake special projects as required to build regional capabilities and complete delegated tasks.
6. Develop, implement and maintain processes for managing the workflow and communication regarding Ministerial

Correspondence, Cabinet processes and Legislative Assembly briefs.
7. Work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to support the office in the delivery of key Government priorities.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level organisational skills, including the ability to work autonomously, under pressure and complete

tasks within required time frames, using initiative, prioritising workloads and maintaining flexibility.
2. Demonstrated experience managing business processes, including a working knowledge of secretariat, human resource

management and financial management processes.
3. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly,

build strong stakeholder relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, facilitate cooperation, and proactively
coordinate key activities in a timely and professional manner.

4. Demonstrated experience and ability in the use of Microsoft Office applications (including AI) to produce high level
documentation and records for reporting purposes, including other relevant systems such as TRM, TRIPS and NTG Pay.

5. Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative support to Senior Executives, including on sensitive and
confidential matters, preparing meeting papers, minutes and correspondence.

6. Good understanding of the Northern Territory's regions and key drivers that shape the government’s priorities.
