PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Conduct technical investigations, prepare specifications, supervise routine specific and routine contracts and provide technical and administrative
advice on activities associated with operations and maintenance of power distribution networks, diesel generation systems as well as utility scale
solar power generation systems at Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Investigate power distribution network faults and ensure any remedial actions take place. Monitor utility scale renewable generation systems,
power stations, diagnose faults, organise maintenance and manage any improvements.
- Conduct and supervise maintenance of high and low voltage distribution networks, isolated generation systems, large solar systems and battery
energy storage systems.
- Manage projects to install new generation and electrical distribution systems and upgrade existing installations. This includes inspecting,
authorising, control and costing of the activities and work performance of contractors engaged by Power and Water.
- Monitor budgets, work programs and technical components of specifications and provide estimates for repairs and maintenance projects.
- Participate in a rotating on-call roster to respond to faults and to provide remote assistance.
