What you will do as the Senior Analyst

Undertake assessments and competition analysis of mergers across a wide range of industries, and present that analysis in recommendations to ACCC Commissioners and Senior Managers.
Carry out economic, legal or data advice and analysis.
Conduct consultations with market participants and managing relationships with key stakeholders including merger parties and their lawyers.
Liaise with other Australian Government agencies and overseas competition and consumer agencies about the ACCC’s mergers work.
Supervise and developing more junior staff.
Assist with the review of our decisions by the Australian Competition Tribunal, including preparation of instructions for the ACCC’s lawyers and liaison with expert consultants.

About you

In order to succeed in the role, you will have:

An ability to research, investigate and analyse competition issues, including interpreting and applying legislation, policies and procedures.
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to engage, support and work effectively with others.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects.
Experience supervising, developing and supporting junior staff.
An understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (in particular Part IVA) as well as a sound general knowledge of the roles and functions of the ACCC.
Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, data or similar fields.
At least two or more years relevant work experience after graduating from relevant undergraduate tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded but not mandatory.
