Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Chef to join our professional kitchen team. The role involves overseeing food preparation activities, maintaining high culinary standards, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee daily food preparation and cooking activities in the kitchen
Prepare and cook menu items while maintaining high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Participate in menu planning and contribute to the development of seasonal or specialty dishes
Estimate food and labour costs and assist with monitoring kitchen expenditure
Procure food ingredients and kitchen supplies, manage inventory, and maintain appropriate stock levels
Implement portion control and efficient ingredient usage to minimise food waste and maintain cost efficiency
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation procedures
Allocate tasks and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations
Train and mentor kitchen staff and apprentices to support team development
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations
Oversee proper food storage, freezing, and preservation procedures
Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and customer satisfaction

Requirements

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary training.
At least 1 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards in food preparation and kitchen operations
Good knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen procedures, and inventory management
Strong communication and teamwork skills in a professional kitchen environment
Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
