Job Title: NDIS SIL Manager

Reports to: Director

Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (including on-call responsibilities)

Location: Sydney Eastern Suburbs

Ample Life is a provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Respite Accommodation (MTA/STA) for NDIS participants across Sydney. We specialise in culturally and linguistically aligned care services to participants from diverse backgrounds such as Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Spanish, Indonesian, Korean, Italian, and many others.

In each of our homes, our participants and carers share the same language and cultural backgrounds. This means that there are no language barriers. There is cultural sensitivity in our communication and care. Our participants get to enjoy food from their native cuisine on a daily basis just like at home. We play games, music, and TV from our participants’ native countries. Our homes feel like home.

About the Role

As the SIL Manager, you will oversee the daily operations and overall management of our SIL homes, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery. Working under the general direction of our Directors, you will lead teams, drive compliance, maintain high standards of documentation and reporting, and ensure participants receive consistent, high-quality, person-centred support aligned with their goals and NDIS SIL plans to promote independent living.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Management: Provide overall direction and management of SIL homes, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality day-to-day service delivery.
Person-Centred Service Delivery: Ensure participants' NDIS Plans are implemented in line with their goals by coordinating supports and collaborating with families, guardians, Support Coordinators and Allied Health Professionals.
Policy, Procedures & Standards: Develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and standards to ensure consistent, compliant and high-quality service delivery.
Team Leadership: Lead, recruit, coach, supervise and manage the performance and development of employees.
Professional Administration: Manage rosters, appointments, emails, reporting and documentation to support efficient daily operations.
Onboarding & Training: Coordinate onboarding, site orientation and ongoing training to support employee capability and engagement.
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare operational reports, facilitate team meetings and ensure compliance with organisational policies, workplace legislation and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Standards.
Incident & Risk Management: Review and manage incidents, complaints and risks to maintain participant safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Resource & Financial Management: Monitor participant resources and oversee budgets, expenditure, supplies, equipment and service allocation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with participants, families, carers, Support Coordinators, Allied Health Professionals and external providers.
External Liaison & Advocacy: Liaise with health, welfare, community organisations and funding bodies to coordinate services and improve participant outcomes.
Sector Representation: Represent Ample Life at meetings, industry forums, seminars and professional networks to strengthen partnerships and promote the organisation.
On-Call & Crisis Management: Act as the primary on-call contact outside business hours, responding to operational, staffing and participant-related incidents.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you will need:

Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role, specifically providing care to participants with a disability.
Relevant Qualifications & Sector Experience: A relevant Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in health, community services, disability, human services, management or a related discipline, combined with demonstrated experience managing services and supporting people with disability.
Intellectual Aptitude: Strong ability to manage complex tasks, including detailed documentation, planning, and prioritisation.
NDIS & Disability Sector Experience: Solid understanding of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, NDIS frameworks, and Quality and Safeguarding standards.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a team while driving high-quality service outcomes.
Organisational Excellence: Exceptional skills in reporting, calendar management, email correspondence, data management, and maintaining accurate participant records to ensure seamless operations.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess situations, identify risks, make sound decisions and implement practical solutions.
High-Intensity Care Expertise: Proficient in implementing behavioural support plans, restrictive practices, manual handling procedures, and managing medication protocols to support participants' needs effectively.
Empathy & Professional Integrity: Commitment to upholding participant rights, promoting choice and control, and delivering respectful, person-centred services.

Preferred Backgrounds

Candidates with strong experience in the disability, health or community services sectors are encouraged to apply. This includes experienced SIL Managers, Service Managers, Team Leaders, Support Coordinators, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses, Behaviour Support Practitioners, and other health or welfare professionals with demonstrated experience in leading services, coordinating supports, managing teams, and delivering high-quality outcomes for people with disability.
