About the team
Join a highly skilled multidisciplinary perioperative team delivering care across operating theatres, PACU, Day Surgery and Pre-Admission Clinic services.
Lead experienced Nursing Unit Managers and senior nursing leaders across a large tertiary surgical service.
Work closely with executive leaders, surgeons, anaesthetists and allied health professionals to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
Drive service redesign, innovation and operational improvements that support growing surgical demand.

What you'll be doing
As the Nurse Manager Grade 5 – Perioperative Services, you will provide strategic, operational and professional leadership across perioperative services to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care while achieving service, workforce and organisational objectives.
In this role, you will:
Lead the operational management and performance of perioperative services, including operating theatres, PACU, Day Surgery and Pre-Admission Clinic.
Drive patient flow, theatre efficiency, elective surgery access and achievement of key safety, quality and activity performance targets.
Lead and develop a high-performing workforce through recruitment, workforce planning, capability development and succession planning.
Champion clinical governance, risk management, accreditation, patient safety and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Partner with executives, clinicians and multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver strategic service growth, innovation and transformational change.

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and relevant post graduate qualification in health management, leadership and/or perioperative nursing
Demonstrated leadership and experience in managing complex perioperative healthcare services, including workforce, finance and operations
Proven ability in strategic planning, KPI management, and service improvement
Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated experience in change management and clinical service redesign
Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture that incorporates a safety culture and achieve a vision for healthcare services in the contemporary health care environment incorporating current workforce trends
Experience in a large tertiary hospital setting 2. Knowledge of elective surgery access targets and patient flow systems
