About the role

As a Parking Officer, you'll play an important role in helping keep the Inner West safe, accessible and moving efficiently. Working across our vibrant local communities, you'll spend your days out and about rather than behind a desk, engaging with residents, visitors and businesses while helping to maintain fair and safe parking practices.

In this role, you will:

Conduct parking patrols across school zones, clearways, residential parking scheme areas and Council car parks.
Help ensure compliance with parking regulations while providing professional and respectful customer service.
Exercise delegated authority to take appropriate action in accordance with legislation, Council policies, procedures and guidelines.
Identify and report damaged parking signs and other Council assets to support the safety and functionality of public spaces.
Build your knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Acts and Regulations (e.g. Local Government Act, Roads Act, Australian and/or NSW Road Rules).

No two days are the same. You'll enjoy a varied role that combines community engagement, problem-solving and outdoor work, all while contributing to safer streets and a better experience for everyone who lives, works and visits the Inner West.

Remuneration

$64,819.56 - $72,597.72 + 12% Superannuation + 18.8% loading in accordance with the Ranger Services Agreement

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse community preferably in a regulatory role.

Ability to read and understand, apply and enforce legislation, policies and guidelines.

Well-developed interpersonal skills, including demonstrated conflict resolution, consultation, negotiation and customer service skills.

Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to complete forms, maintain records and write investigative reports or similar documents in support of legal prosecutions.

Proven ability to work unsupervised.
