Contract Administrator

Location: 568 Collins st, Melbourne 3000
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: AUD 79,500 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Contract Administrator to support the effective management of commercial contracts throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with management, suppliers, subcontractors and clients to ensure contractual obligations are met, risks are minimised, and projects are delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Prepare, review and administer contracts, subcontracts and related documentation.
•⁠ ⁠Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
•⁠ ⁠Monitor contract performance to ensure all parties meet agreed obligations, milestones and deliverables.
•⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, variations and supporting documentation.
•⁠ ⁠Evaluate proposed contract amendments and coordinate the approval process.
•⁠ ⁠Identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions to minimise commercial exposure.
•⁠ ⁠Liaise with project teams to ensure contractual requirements are understood and implemented.
•⁠ ⁠Monitor expenditure, contract values and payment schedules to support effective financial control.
•⁠ ⁠Assess contractor and supplier claims, invoices and variations for contractual compliance.
•⁠ ⁠Coordinate with business owner, management and operational teams on contract-related matters where required.
•⁠ ⁠Assist in resolving contractual issues, disputes and compliance matters through timely communication and documentation.
•⁠ ⁠Prepare reports on contract status, performance, outstanding obligations and key commercial issues.
•⁠ ⁠Ensure contracts comply with relevant legislation, organisational policies and industry standards.
•⁠ ⁠Support procurement and tender activities by reviewing commercial documentation and contract conditions.
•⁠ ⁠Contribute to continuous improvement of contract administration processes and record management practices.

Skills and Experience
•⁠ ⁠Qualification in Business, Commerce, Management or a related discipline.
•⁠ ⁠Demonstrated experience in contract administration or office administration.
•⁠ ⁠At least 12 months of full-time work experience.
•⁠ ⁠Strong understanding of contract management principles and commercial practices.
•⁠ ⁠Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•⁠ ⁠High level of organisation with strong attention to detail.
•⁠ ⁠Ability to analyse contractual information and resolve issues effectively.
•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
•⁠ ⁠Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
