Head Chef – Curly's Café, Mount Coolum

Lead Our Kitchen. Shape Our Future.

Curly's Café is looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen team in beautiful Mount Coolum on the Sunshine Coast.

We're a well-established local café known for great coffee, fresh food, and genuine hospitality. As we continue to evolve, we're seeking a hands-on leader who can bring creativity, consistency, and strong operational skills to our kitchen.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you'll be responsible for:

Leading and mentoring the kitchen team
Managing daily kitchen operations
Menu development and seasonal specials
Food costing and maintaining GP targets
Stock ordering and supplier management
Ensuring food safety and compliance standards are met
Driving consistency, quality, and efficiency across all services
Managing labour costs and kitchen rostering

About You

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
Thrives in a fast-paced café environment
Has strong leadership and communication skills
Understands food costing, stock control, and labour management
Is passionate about quality food and customer experience
Brings a positive attitude and leads by example
Holds relevant food safety qualifications
