Forensic Intervention Services provides evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services for individuals in custody and the community. We provide services in areas such as violent and sexual offending, family violence, violent extremism and restorative justice.

As part of the Forensic Intervention Services leadership team, the General Manager, Barwon Precinct Interventions is responsible for the overall management of two clinical teams that deliver clinical assessments, management and interventions to individuals convicted of a range of offences across Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre, Karreenga and Western Plains Correctional Centre. The General Manager is also responsible for the management of three Principal Clinicians and the oversight of the clinical service delivery model of Ripley Young Adult Unit.

What you will do

As General Manager, Barwon Precinct Interventions, you will help set the direction for effective treatment programs across the following portfolios: Principal Clinicians (x3), Barwon Precinct Interventions, Complex Interventions and Clinical Manager, Ripley Young Adult Unit. You will support managers across these teams, making sure resources are used effectively and services meet targets.

You will also:

mentor staff
manage professional development
provide expert advice on emerging clinical trends
build relationships with key partners
represent Corrections Victoria at conferences.

Eligibility

To apply, you will need to hold - or be eligible for - one of the following:

Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
A master's degree in psychotherapy and eligible for registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA); or
A master's degree in counselling and eligible for membership with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA); or
Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
