About the Role
Lucky Strike Gold is one of Australia's leading gold prospecting retailers and we're looking for an exceptional retail professional to join our family-owned business in a full time role.
This is far more than a standard retail sales position. You'll play an important role in the day to day management of the store, leading by example, supporting the team, driving sales, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Based in our Geelong store, you'll work closely with our Melbourne team to ensure a consistent customer experience across both locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service while consistently achieving and exceeding individual and store sales KPIs.
- Build genuine, long term relationships with customers by providing honest advice and tailored product recommendations.
- Assist with the day to day management and operation of the retail store.
- Lead by example, supporting, mentoring and motivating the retail team while helping create a positive, high performing workplace culture.
- Resolve customer enquiries and problems with confidence, professionalism and sound judgement.
- Take ownership of your role and confidently make decisions without requiring constant direction.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of our products and continually develop your industry knowledge.
- Process sales, customer orders, stock and inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Work confidently across multiple computer systems and quickly adapt to new technology and software.
- Maintain exceptional standards of store presentation and organisation.
- Assist with stock control, stocktakes and inventory management.
- Identify opportunities to improve store procedures, customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Contribute ideas and support the continued growth of the business.
Requirements
- Current Australian driver's licence preferred.
- Exceptional computer skills are essential. You must be highly proficient with technology, learn new software quickly, and feel comfortable working across multiple systems.
- A proven track record of achieving or exceeding retail sales targets and KPIs.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or managing a retail team.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to confidently identify opportunities.
- Outstanding problem solving skills, sound judgement, and the confidence to make decisions independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- A proactive attitude with a desire to continually improve processes and contribute to the success of the business.
- Ability to work independently while also being a supportive and collaborative team member.
- Experience or a genuine interest in gold prospecting, metal detecting, camping or the outdoors is highly regarded, but not essential.
- Commercially minded with an understanding of how sales, margins, inventory and customer experience contribute to business success.
- Able to read customers, adapt communication styles and build genuine long-term relationships.
- Proactively identifies tasks and opportunities without waiting to be asked.
- Takes ownership of outcomes and follows tasks through to completion.
- Comfortable interpreting sales reports, KPIs and business data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Comfortable managing the demands and pressures of a busy retail environment.
