About the role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will enjoy a diverse and rewarding role where no two days are the same. Combining field and office-based work, you'll undertake inspections, investigations, compliance activities and major event oversight, delivering positive public health and environmental outcomes across the LGA
This position is responsible for:
- Investigate and resolve public health, food safety, environmental and pollution-related complaints and customer requests.
- Conduct inspections of regulated premises, including food businesses, cooling towers, public swimming pools and skin penetration premises, to ensure legislative compliance.
- Apply education, compliance and enforcement measures, including issuing notices, orders and other regulatory actions where required.
- Review Development Applications and provide specialist advice on environmental and public health matters.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and regulatory documentation in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
Contribute to environmental health projects, initiatives and team objectives.

About You
We’re looking for an Environmental Health professional with experience in environmental health, regulatory compliance and inspections.
You will bring:
- Experience investigating compliance matters and applying legislation, ideally within Local Government or a regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of inspecting and monitoring regulated premises, including food businesses and personal services establishments.
- Experience maintaining accurate records, preparing reports and managing regulatory documentation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Sound knowledge of Environmental Health legislation and issues relevant to Local Government.
