About the role:

The Senior Immunisation Advisor is part of the Policy and Programs team in the Immunisation Unit. In this role you will be responsible for managing immunisation queries, including the provision of clinical advice associated with the National Immunisation Program, cold chain management, vaccine errors and Victorian immunisation initiatives. Your immunisation expertise will also contribute to public health responses where immunisation is involved, such as Japanese encephalitis and monkeypox.

You will contribute to the development of resources to support Victorian immunisation services and lead and contribute to actions and/or initiatives that meet or respond to issues or needs of key stakeholders as well as government, department, and unit priorities in relation to immunisation.

About you:

A relevant tertiary qualification in project management, policy development, health and/or public health is desirable.
Current AHPRA registration and Victorian accreditation as an immunisation nurse or pharmacist immuniser.
Demonstrated knowledge and broad experience in immunisation service delivery with a high-level understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks and objectives at both state and national levels.
Experienced in the provision of clinical immunisation advice to health professionals and/or members of the public.
Knowledge and understanding of the National Immunisation Program.
Knowledge and understanding of national informants to the National Immunisation Program including the Therapeutic Goods Administration and Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation.
Demonstrable experience in vaccine cold chain management, management of vaccine errors and understanding of SAEFVIC.
Ability to interpret immunisation coverage data and provide advice to inform key policy and stakeholder education needs.
Experienced stakeholder engagement to facilitate and promote immunisation related to policy, legislation, and strategic plans.
Demonstrable experience in policy, project planning and delivery of high-quality public health services
Knowledge of Victoria's No Jab No Play law is highly desirable
