About the Role
Pharmacy at The Royal Melbourne Hospital plays a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of medications across our 600-bed health service. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team to support the provision of high-quality pharmaceutical care and medicines management for our patients.
We provide high level pharmacy services to many exciting areas over our Parkville and Royal Park campuses including technician led:
Inpatient services
Outpatient services
Aseptic and Sterile manufacturing services
Inventory management
Digital health
Advanced roles including technician checking and medicines access programs
We are also continuously developing new roles into exciting areas such as:
Ambulatory care
State-wide medication services
Key Accountabilities
Work in partnership with the Pharmacy Inpatient & Ambulatory Services team (Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists) to provide high-quality, patient-centred pharmacy services
Train and develop new skills as we expand into new and exciting roles
Participate in day-to-day pharmacy technician duties across inpatients, outpatients, sterile/aseptic manufacturing, inventory, and clinical wards
Maintain a customer focus for all services within the scope of the position
Contribute to on-call, after-hours, public holiday, and weekend services
Participate in meetings and committees
About You
Certificate IV in Health (or equivalent) / Overseas trained pharmacist
Excellent interpersonal skills
Attention to detail
Well-developed oral & written communication skills
Desirable
Previous experience in community or hospital pharmacy
