About the role:

The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit aims to reduce the risk of individuals from becoming or remaining violent extremists and to address the social impacts of violent extremism by undertaking the following activities:

Build the resilience of communities to violent extremism.
Support the diversion of individuals at risk of becoming violent extremists when possible.
Establish a coordinated intervention structure that can best identify, and support individuals deemed at risk of radicalisation to violent extremism.
Enhance the capacity of Government and non-Government agencies to support and deliver CVE identification and intervention activities.
Develop and maintain highly coordinated prevention, preparedness, and response arrangements in relation to threats and acts of terrorism in Victoria.
Develop programs to prevent terrorism and counter violent extremism in Victoria and lead the Victoria Police's agenda and participation in national and international counter terrorism forums.

The Project Administrator sits within the CVE Unit Policy and Projects Team, reporting to the Senior Policy and Projects Advisor. The role of the Project Administrator is to provide project support to a large portfolio of projects intended to meet policy goals under state and national CVE policies.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:

Day to day tasks include the development of project management plans, supporting stakeholder consultation activities such as coordinating meetings with stakeholders, supporting evaluation activities such as compiling and reviewing key data and documents, and drafting forms and reporting as required. Other core duties include:

Support a range of confidential project activities using appropriate research techniques and methods and contribute to the ongoing monitoring of project outcomes & methodology.
Develop and maintain processes, systems and accurate records and produce relevant management reports.
Provide a range of office and administrative support services, including HR and finance activities, maintaining filing systems,
Meet strict timelines and effectively balance competing demands with supervision, working both independently and as a member of a team.
Research a broad range of issues relevant to the Division and support/coordinate projects as required, providing reports to the Superintendent and Senior Management Team.
Other duties as directed.

About You:

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience supporting the management of a range of projects.
Demonstrated experience working as a member of a team, contributing to team goals.
Demonstrated experience providing high quality administrative support services.
A related university degree is desirable.

Further Information:

One (1) x fixed term position until 30 June 2028 available.
This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
