This hybrid full-time Senior Tribunal Officer role is available in Canberra on an ongoing basis within the User Services team.
As the senior support of both a local and national team, this role requires a regular onsite presence. Flexible working arrangements are available to support a positive work–life balance.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS5 - $88,834 - $96,829 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunity:
Due to operational growth, our supportive and collaborative team are on the hunt for our next high-performing senior to manage challenging cases, provide expert hearing and administrative support, and play a key role in delivering quality outcomes.
You'll work closely with leaders, members, registrars, and stakeholders to solve procedural matters, coach and support colleagues, and drive continuous improvement.
The User Services section is responsible for delivering first level contact services to the Tribunal’s users. This includes:-
- Managing incoming email and mail correspondence
- Responding to telephone enquiries
- Responding to in-person enquiries at the Tribunal’s registries and,
- Providing support for hearings

To be successful you will have:
- Advanced working knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of applicable legislation, policies and procedures, and ability to exercise sound judgement in applying this knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to provide training, guidance, and quality assurance practices to support staff development in the delivery of high-quality services to internal and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed ability to plan, organise and monitor individual and teamwork priorities, meet deadlines, and to keep and maintain accurate records.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deal effectively with a diverse client base and complex client situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other leaders to support effective leadership of a team to achieve results, embrace change, and work in alignment with Australian Public Service and ART Values and standards.
Qualifications / Experience
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications OR relevant experience in a similar work environment OR subject matter expertise related to one or more of the ART’s jurisdictions
Eligibility:
- Australian Federal Police Check
