Sous Chef – Oliver Brown Bankstown

Join the team at Oliver Brown Bankstown, where we’re passionate about quality, creativity, and delivering an exceptional café experience. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef lead the kitchen in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation. You’ll assist with menu execution, oversee daily kitchen operations, and help lead a small, passionate team to deliver consistency and excellence during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance and morale
Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation meet Oliver Brown standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
Manage stock rotation, ordering, and waste control
Assist with new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and OH&S requirements at all times

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment
A passion for quality, presentation, and innovation
Excellent time management and attention to detail
Availability on weekends and public holidays
