About the Role
As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation. You’ll assist with menu execution, oversee daily kitchen operations, and help lead a small, passionate team to deliver consistency and excellence during busy service periods.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance and morale
- Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation meet Oliver Brown standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
- Manage stock rotation, ordering, and waste control
- Assist with new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and OH&S requirements at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment
- A passion for quality, presentation, and innovation
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Availability on weekends and public holidays
