Hours: 6am to 3pm
The Role
This isn't a role for someone who's happy to approximate. You'll work under the direction of the Sous Chef and Head Chef — rotating stations, building your craft, and holding the Maggio's standard on every plate you send. No late nights. Early starts. A kitchen where the detail is the product.
What You'll Do
- Execute savoury menu items exactly to recipe and presentation guides — every shift, every station
- Own your station: prepped, stocked, and ready before service begins
- Perform under pressure without dropping your standards — busy periods are where they're proven
- Contribute to catering production with the same precision as a single café plate
- Apply FIFO, HACCP, and food safety standards without being prompted
- Communicate openly with both kitchen and FOH — a smooth service is everyone's responsibility
Who You Are
- You hold yourself to a high standard because it matters to you, not because someone is watching.
- You read the kitchen around you, speak up when it counts, and treat every colleague — FOH included — as part of your team.
- You're not just showing up; you're developing.
- 1-2 years in a professional kitchen (café or restaurant)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery minimum; Cert IV preferred or in progress
- Available for early morning starts, Monday to Sunday as per roster
- Willing to work across Maggio's sites as operational needs require
