Full time position (76 hours per fortnight)
Nine-day fortnight option
Generous superannuation (up to 17%, conditions apply)
Five weeks annual leave

About this position

Are you looking to build your career in civil construction and drainage?

The Drainer / General Hand works as part of the Infrastructure Engineering Construction team and assists with the construction of municipal civil projects.

In this hands-on role, you will construct and modify stormwater drainage infrastructure —including pipes, pits, and side entries — following detailed plans and policies. You will also operate plant, equipment and vehicles used in civil construction activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

Relevant experience in a similar civil construction or drainage role
Experience constructing, altering or maintaining stormwater drainage infrastructure, including pipes, pits and side entries
Ability to interpret construction plans, undertake accurate measurements and maintain quality standards
Proven ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Commitment to safe work practices and Workplace Health and Safety requirements
Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Essential requirements

MR Driver's Licence
White Card
Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old). Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.

Desirable requirements

Current Basic Workplace Traffic Management and Traffic Control certificate
Machine or plant operators certification
