Chef – Full Time / Part TimeAbout Us

We're a busy neighbourhood café located in the heart of Williamstown, known for quality coffee, fresh food, and a friendly, team-first culture. We pride ourselves on serving delicious meals made with fresh ingredients and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. You'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining consistency across our menu, and helping lead the kitchen during busy service periods. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional food.

What You'll Do

Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch, lunch, and café menu items to a consistently high standard
Assist with menu planning, seasonal specials, and recipe development
Ensure all meals are presented professionally and consistently
Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
Manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food waste
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
Supervise and support kitchen assistants and junior staff where required
Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality
Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Chef in a café, restaurant, or commercial kitchen
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
Passion for creating high-quality food and delivering a great customer experience
Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Current Food Safety Certificate (preferred)
Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required
