Little Miss Violet Café is looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Full-Time or Part-Time Cook/Chef to join our busy brunch café.
About the Role
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes while maintaining excellent food quality, consistency and kitchen standards.
This is a hands-on kitchen role, and all team members are expected to assist with general kitchen duties, including dishwashing and cleaning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook café breakfast and lunch menu items
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Follow food safety and hygiene requirements
- Assist with stock rotation and minimise food waste
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
- Perform dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as part of daily duties
- Clean kitchen equipment, benches and work areas
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house team members
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a café or restaurant kitchen
- Experience in a busy brunch café is highly regarded
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Reliable, punctual and a good team player
- Must be available to work every weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- Weekend availability is essential for this position
- Full Australian working rights
Preferred
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
- Experience with brunch-style cooking
- Experience with Korean-inspired cuisine is an advantage but not essential
