About the role:

The Analyst will be a key member of the Budget and Revenue branch in the Budget, Finance and Investment Division.

The Budget Strategy team manages the annual and multi-year budget strategy for the department and oversees the development of the department's submissions to the State budget process.

The role applies policy concepts, tools and sound logic to provide high-level strategic, policy, budget and funding advice on a range of complex health issues to executives, central agencies, and Ministers. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills are need to consult and liaise with key stakeholders, to enable the resolution of complex health sector funding policy issues.

Strong analytical skills are needed to present thoroughly researched and pragmatic solutions to complex stakeholder needs, especially in relation to government funding.

About you:

A bachelor's degree or higher in Finance / Economics / Public Policy (or a related field) will be well regarded.
Experience in a public policy, economics, budgeting or analytical role, including contributing to complex strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders.
Knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, health system funding and/or relevant departmental systems and environments is desirable.
