You know materials handling inside out – forklifts, telehandlers, chain blocks, hydraulic cylinders. Now imagine putting that expertise to work at scale, as a Subject Matter Expert you will support our sales team and client base with specialist knowledge of ‘Lift, Shift & Materials Handling’ products - forklifts, telehandlers, chain blocks, hydraulic cylinders etc.
Backed by the industry leader in hire and the largest fleet in the sector, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong commercial and technical expertise while growing your influence in a specialist market. You’ll develop your sales capability, expand your materials handling knowledge, and gain valuable hands-on industry experience in a team that is genuinely invested in your success.
A day in the life:
- Partnering with local sales teams to build product awareness and win new business through genuine technical expertise
- Building and deepening relationships with key customers across your region
- Growing revenue within the materials handling market by activating and expanding existing client relationships
- Staying across industry trends and helping position Coates as the go-to specialist in materials handling
- Running hands-on training and upskilling sessions that lift capability across sales and operations teams
What we’re looking for
- Proven success in managing a range of Materials Handling products - primarily forklifts (gas, diesel, rough terrain) & telehandlers.
- Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders and translating technical know-how into clear, compelling solutions for customers
- Able to build rapport with customers and negotiate outcomes that work for everyone
- A commercial mindset – you spot opportunities and know how to convert them
