Procurement Specialist — Job Description

Summary
Manage purchasing activities to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining supplier relationships, compliance, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

Execute end-to-end procurement processes: requisition review, sourcing, RFx (RFP/RFQ/RFI), negotiation, PO issuance, and contract management.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers; evaluate supplier performance and manage SLAs.
Analyze spend, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and implement sourcing strategies.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and internal controls.
Collaborate with stakeholders (operations, finance, legal, engineering) to gather requirements and align procurement plans.
Manage supplier onboarding, due diligence, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
Maintain and update procurement records, contracts repository, and vendor master data.
Oversee purchase order tracking, delivery schedules, and resolution of fulfillment issues.
Support inventory management and coordinate with warehousing/logistics for timely receipt and distribution.
Participate in supplier selection, bid evaluations, and contract renewals.
Implement and optimize procurement tools and e‑procurement systems (ERP integrations, S2P platforms).
Prepare procurement reports and KPIs (cost savings, lead time, compliance, supplier performance).
Support audits and procurement-related financial controls.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
2–5 years procurement, sourcing, or supply‑chain experience (adjustable by role level).

Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor‑management skills.

Familiarity with procurement processes, contract terms, and sourcing methodologies.
Experience with ERP or procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
Knowledge of basic accounting/finance principles and PO/invoice workflows.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: CPSM, CIPS, CPIM, or equivalent.
Experience with category management, strategic sourcing, or indirect/direct procurement specialization.
Familiarity with international sourcing, customs, import/export regulations, and trade compliance.
Experience with supplier risk management, sustainability/ESG sourcing, and cost modeling.
Ability to handle high‑volume purchasing and fast‑paced environments.

Pay: $61.25 – $66.12 per hour
