- 4% base salary increase as of July 2026

About the Role
We’re looking for a creative and strategic communicator to lead and coordinate our marketing and communications team.
As Coordinator Marketing and Communications, you’ll be the driving force behind the team, ensuring alignment, collaboration and high performance. You’ll lead the development and delivery of innovative campaigns that inform, engage and inspire our community.
This is a hands-on role where you will actively contribute to content development, review and decision-making.
Working closely with the Executive Manager Communications and Engagement, you’ll:
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team fostering a collaborative and creative culture.
- Coordinate and deliver the day-to-day operations of the marketing and communications function, ensuring consistency and timely execution.
- Shape the narrative through strategic campaigns that build community trust and strengthen the City's reputation.
- Own the headlines with proactive media management and confident handling of reactive media issues.
- Champion brand Vincent by ensuring a consistent and engaging voice across all channels.
- Engage the community through meaningful consultation and storytelling.
- Elevate events by overseeing sponsorship management and supporting civic event delivery.
- Drive impact by tracking and reporting on campaign performance.

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive in this role if you are a natural leader and hands-on operator who builds strong relationships and brings ideas to life.
You apply sound judgement, particularly when navigating complex issues, competing priorities and sensitive communications.
You are an excellent writer with strong attention to detail, able to produce clear, concise and engaging content and confidently edit and proofread work to a high standard.
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism or a related field.
- At least five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing both proactive and reactive media.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and oversee high-quality written content across all channels, ensuring clarity, accuracy and consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex issues into clear, community-facing messaging.
- Demonstrated experience providing editorial oversight to ensure all content meets a high standard of writing and tone.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and empower a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
- A solid understanding of IAP2 principles and best practice in community consultation.
