About the Role
As the State Compliance and Business Manager – WA/SA/QLD, you will play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring our campuses across Western Australia, South Australia, and Queensland operate with the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and compliance.
This role provides both strategic and hands-on oversight across governance, risk, and compliance functions, supporting the long-term sustainability of OneSchool Global across these regions.
You’ll work closely with state and national stakeholders, providing practical guidance and solutions across WHS, risk, finance, People & Culture, IT, transport, insurance, and Working With Children compliance, while fostering a strong culture of governance and continuous improvement.
This role can be based at any of our campuses in Western Australia or Queensland and will require travel across WA, SA, and QLD.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across governance, risk, and compliance functions across WA, SA, and QLD
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, funding, and reporting obligations across all campuses in these regions
- Lead WHS, privacy, and risk management initiatives in line with best-practice frameworks (ISO 45001 / ISO 31000)
- Act as a competent person under applicable WHS legislation, providing practical advice to the PCBU on WHS compliance obligations
- Lead WHS audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives across campuses
- Develop and deliver governance, risk, and compliance reporting to boards and senior stakeholders
- Embed a strong culture of compliance, accountability, and ethical practice across the regions

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant senior-level experience in governance, risk, and compliance within a regulated environment
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in WHS, governance, risk, or compliance-related roles
- Strong demonstrated WHS leadership experience, including ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation
- Proven experience managing WHS audits, incident investigations, safety systems, and compliance frameworks
- Strong knowledge of WHS, privacy, and risk management frameworks (ISO 45001 / ISO 31000 desirable)
- Demonstrated competence in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement practices
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety (BSB51319) or equivalent as a minimum qualification
- Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor qualification in WHS, Risk Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related discipline highly regarded
- Strong understanding of compliance across multiple operational areas (e.g. Finance, HR, IT, transport, insurance)
- Experience working with senior leaders and delivering board-level reporting
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
- Experience managing multi-site or multi-state operations (highly desirable)
- Experience in education or government-funded environments (desirable)
Where a formal WHS qualification is not currently held, candidates may be supported to commence and work towards an agreed qualification within an agreed timeframe.
