Manager, Office of the Chief Executive

Salary: $142,790 - $191,084 plus superannuation

The Role

The Manager, Office of the Chief Executive leads the Office of the Chief Executive within Creative Victoria and provides expert strategic, policy and operational advice to support the Chief Executive and senior leadership team. The role is responsible for leading strategic projects, coordinating ministerial support, governance and performance reporting, and ensuring effective information flow across the organisation. Working closely with executives and key stakeholders, the Manager shapes strategic direction, develops policy initiatives and delivers high-quality outcomes that support departmental and government priorities. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and solutions-focused leader with strong governance, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Main Accountabilities

Identify and respond to new and emerging strategic issues impacting the operating environment.
Provide authoritative expert advice on complex policy, governance and organisational matters.
Build understanding of stakeholder issues and influence outcomes through effective engagement.
Use knowledge of government structures, processes and culture to develop policies and new program or project initiatives.
Advise senior leaders on policy issues and solutions, resolving complex matters through consultation and negotiation.

The Team

The position of Manager, Office of the Chief Executive forms part of the Office of the Chief Executive Branch within Creative Victoria.

Creative Victoria is the Victorian Government body dedicated to championing, growing and supporting Victoria's creative industries. The Office of the Chief Executive Branch supports the Chief Executive in delivering departmental, ministerial and government priorities and includes the First Peoples Unit, Communications and Engagement Unit, and Executive Office. The branch leads key initiatives that strengthen First Peoples self-determination, promote Victoria's creative industries and support strategic organisational outcomes.

About You

You will bring strong leadership capabilities and experience aligning workforce, service delivery and organisational priorities to achieve business outcomes. You will demonstrate sound business and commercial acumen, using strategic insight to manage risk, drive efficiencies and deliver value. You will also have proven stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, influence diverse stakeholders and facilitate innovative solutions to complex issues.
