$149,833.00 per annum plus superannuation

About the role

Our City Spaces contribute to the City of Sydney’s vision for a socially just and inclusive city by providing the community with access to a variety of public facing Community Centres and Venues for hire, as well as a range of other community buildings used for a diverse range of programs and activities.

The City Spaces team is looking for highly skilled and motivated leader to manage the Community venues team. A fixed term (up to end of January 2028) Area Manager position is available.

The Area Manager Community Venues will be responsible for managing and leading a team to provide access to over 40 community hire spaces across community venues, community centres and libraries, setting the strategic direction for this team and leading on the implementation of a new online booking portal.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Highly developed problem solving and project delivery skills, including the ability to manage multiple, high priority and often competing tasks which are required in a short timeframe. Excellent time management is essential
Exceptional leadership skills, resilience, the ability work with complex and competing work priorities at high volumes.
Experience in leading and developing diverse teams through a complex change process.
Experience in delivering challenging projects in a time constrained and politically sensitive environment.
Experience of establishing or maintaining robust systems to capture and report service related data
Experience of working on the delivery and implementation of online booking software or a similar project.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
