About the role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a function at the centre of one of the most important periods in the City of Parramatta's journey. As Group Manager Business Improvement & Assurance, you will provide strategic leadership across key organisational improvement, assurance and reform initiatives, helping to strengthen governance, rebuild capability and drive long-term organisational success.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leaders across the organisation, you will lead a multidisciplinary team and provide oversight of complex programs that support meaningful cultural change and organisational maturity.
In this role you will:
- Lead the delivery of organisation-wide business improvement, governance and strategic reform initiatives aligned to Council's priorities and long-term objectives.
- Provide executive leadership, oversight and assurance across major programs, including monitoring progress, risks, performance and delivery outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide trusted strategic advice, reporting and recommendations to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Councillors on matters critical to organisational success.

About you
The successful candidate will be a strategic and influential leader with a strong track record of driving organisational improvement in complex environments. You bring the ability to balance strategic thinking with delivery excellence, building trust and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups while maintaining focus on achieving meaningful outcomes.
You will also bring:
- Extensive senior leadership experience delivering organisation-wide business improvement, governance, organisational change or strategic reform programs within large and complex organisations.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex strategic initiatives involving executive oversight, governance, assurance and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven capability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams through significant organisational change while maintaining engagement, accountability and performance.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building and influencing skills, with experience providing high-level strategic advice to executive leaders and governing bodies.
