About the Role:

Azuma is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Omakase Wait Staff to join our team. The ideal candidates will be adaptable, reliable, and have a genuine passion for delivering memorable experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service

Deliver warm, attentive, and professional service throughout the guest experience.
Provide exceptional hospitality while maintaining a friendly and polished demeanour.
Present and explain omakase menus with confidence and attention to detail.

Beverage Service & Preparation

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, sake, and specialty drinks.
Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee and other alcohol free beverages.
Ensure consistency and quality in all beverage offerings.

Menu & Beverage Knowledge

Confidently recommend dishes, sake, wine, and beverage pairings.
Develop a strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, and beverage offerings.
Stay informed about food allergies and dietary requirements to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.

Sales & Upselling

Inform guests about seasonal specials and premium offerings.
Suggest food and beverage pairings to enhance the dining experience.
Process payments accurately and efficiently.

Inventory & Venue Maintenance

Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
Restock bar and coffee station supplies as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, glassware, coffee equipment, and bar facilities.
Assist with preparing garnishes and service mise en place.

About You

Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar hospitality role is preferred.
Experience in fine dining, omakase, cocktail bars, specialty coffee, or high-end hospitality environments is highly regarded.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Calm, professional, and well-presented under pressure.
Passion for hospitality, food, wine, sake, and coffee.
Availability to work evenings from Tuesday to Saturday.
Understanding of Japanese language and culture is preferred, particularly in a hospitality setting.

Job Details

Job Type: Casual (Set Working Hours)

Future Opportunity: Full-time position may become available for the right candidate.

Typical Schedule:

Lunch Shift: From 11:30am
Dinner Shift: From 5:30pm
Tuesday to Saturday
