Position Swim Manager (Full-time, fixed term role)
In a nutshell
This gig is all about the overall success of swimsters and the delivery of exceptional swim classes to children and adults. With end-to-end responsibilities, you’ll provide a safe environment, maximise revenue opportunities, keep an eye on the costs and guarantee a fun and easy way to learn how to swim.
A day in the life
- Provide heartfelt service and exceptional swimsters management in line with our customer experience strategy and brand standards (all running like clockwork).
- Manage the delivery of the swim experience creating an environment where swimsters are so engaged and entertained, they don’t even realise they’re learning to swim.
- Oversee the wide range of swimming age and skill levels to ensure all suitably assessed.
- Ensure all interactions are warm, queries are answered and feedback handled effectively.
- Maximise timetabling efficiencies, maintain ratios and oversee day-to-day bookings.
- Ensure all areas of swimsters are safe and clean and reflects the highest standard.
- Always advocate water safety, swim survival skills and maintain awareness of child protection law.
- Ensure an overall safe environment for students, carers and all of the team.
- Recruit, coach, develop and motivate the swimsters team to achieve agreed targets.
- Work to achieve membership and revenue and to operate within agreed expense budgets, with accountability for the overall financial performance of swimsters.
- Liaise with the HOD (‘Head of Dept’) team to assess, monitor and improve swimsters strategies and support the team where possible.
To land this gig… and your ongoing mindset
- You have your AUSTSWIM certificate, 2+ years leadership experience in a swim school, your first aid, flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule and your Working with Children Check. You may also have your Infant and Preschool Aquatics qual, Access and Inclusion qual or Teacher of Adults qual. A+ for you.
- You have aligned experience. You love to create educational (yet entertaining) swim lessons, building trust and safety. You’re well versed across various ages and skill levels.
- You are people-focused. You enjoy teaching children to swim. You’re warm, honest and genuine. Delivering and teaching others how to deliver supreme swim experiences makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
- You are self-assured. You listen intently. You speak eloquently. You can connect with anyone and you’re comfortable communicating at all levels. You’re authentic when you express yourself. People trust you.
