EXPERIENCED KITCHEN HAND / DISHWASHER

YORU Japanese-Korean Izakaya | Gold Coast

Casual | Competitive Hourly Rate Based on Experience

We're looking for an experienced kitchen hand who understands the pace and standards of a busy restaurant.

This is not an entry-level position.

We're after someone who can work quickly, stay organised, keep the kitchen clean, and take initiative without needing constant direction.

You must have:

Previous commercial kitchen or dishwashing experience
Genuine interest in Japanese food and culture
Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
Strong understanding of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
Reliable transport and good availability
A positive attitude and strong work ethic

Your responsibilities will include:

Operating and managing the dishwashing area
Washing dishes, glassware, cookware, and kitchen equipment
Keeping kitchen and storage areas clean and organised
Assisting chefs with basic fry section when required
Receiving and putting away deliveries
Taking out rubbish and maintaining cleaning schedules
Supporting the kitchen team wherever neededWhat we're looking for:
Someone who notices what needs doing and gets it done
Someone who keeps moving when service slows down
Someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised workplace
Someone who works well as part of a team

What won't work here:

Applicants with no commercial kitchen experience
People who wait to be told every task
People who avoid cleaning or only want to wash dishes
