The Role

As a Nominated Supervisor, you are responsible for the guidance, support, and general supervision of children, staff, and volunteers at the service. You will lead a team of Educators to ensure they work in accordance with the service philosophy, policies, procedures, and the National Quality Standards (NQS), to provide high-quality education and care for all enrolled children.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children, staff, and volunteers.
Act as the Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) at the service.
Train and support staff in understanding, designing, and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Montessori Curriculum.
Ensure staff fulfil all aspects of their job descriptions.
Provide ongoing support to the management team in administrative processes, curriculum development, parent and community engagement, staff development, and other operational areas as required.
Promote the service and support healthy enrolments to ensure optimal centre occupancy.

Key Competencies

Strong understanding of industry legislation, compliance, and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of business management
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
Strong understanding of the importance of family communication
Leadership, mentoring, and people-management skills
Curriculum planning expertise
Understanding of the Montessori Philosophy
Passion for implementing early learning programs
Commitment to the holistic development of children

Essential Criteria

2+ years’ experience managing a childcare service
Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (ACECQA-approved), or working towards this qualification
Current Working with Children Check
Ability to work shifts between 7:00am–6:00pm, Monday to Friday
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Sound understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF), including the National Regulations, NQS, and EYLF
