Lighthouse Disability is a premium, person-centred NDIS accommodation provider. We are looking for an experienced Disability House Manager to lead one of our Supported Independent Living homes in Parklea, NSW. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that a well-run home is the foundation of genuinely good support.

About the role
You will lead the day-to-day operations of a five-bedroom home that supports permanent residents alongside Short-Term and Medium-Term guests, together with community access. You will lead and develop a team of Disability Support Workers, manage rosters and compliance, and stay close to the daily life of the home while keeping the systems behind it accurate and reliable. You will report directly to our Managing Director, and on-call is part of the role.
What you'll be doing
Leadership and daily operations
- Oversee the daily running of the home, ensuring it is safe, clean, and welcoming
- Lead the delivery of supports across SIL, Short-Term and Medium-Term Accommodation, and community access
- Maintain participant routines and a calm, well-ordered environment
- Manage day-to-day issues, escalations, and emergencies, and take responsibility for on-call duties
Team leadership and workforce planning
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of support workers and senior staff
- Prepare and manage rosters, shift coverage, and workforce planning
- Conduct check-ins, coaching, and performance conversations
- Assist with recruitment, induction, and onboarding of new staff
Participant support and wellbeing
- Build respectful relationships with participants and support their choices and goals
- Monitor participant goals, wellbeing, risks, and changing support needs
- Support intake, transition, and exit planning for Short-Term and Medium-Term guests
- Oversee medication management and documentation in line with policy
Compliance, quality, and documentation
- Ensure the home meets NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding, and WHS requirements
- Oversee incident reporting, risk assessments, and accurate record keeping
- Maintain participant files and house documentation in VisualCare
- Support internal audits and quality improvement
Service improvement and growth
- Identify practical ways to improve how the home runs
- Work towards the home operating at or near full capacity through timely intake, smooth transitions, and a high-quality experience
- Contribute to Lighthouse's broader accommodation services and plans for growth
What we're looking for
- Around five years' experience in disability, SIL, or residential support, including team leadership or supervision
- Sound knowledge of the NDIS, NDIS Practice Standards, and safeguarding
- A demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop a team
- Confidence with rosters, documentation, incident reporting, and compliance
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A calm, organised, and accountable approach
- A genuine commitment to person-centred support, dignity, choice, and inclusion
Desirable: Certificate IV in Disability or a related qualification; experience across SIL, Short-Term or Medium-Term Accommodation; experience with behaviour support plans and reportable incidents; confidence with client management systems such as VisualCare.
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or the ability to obtain one)
- Working with Children Check (NSW)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Right to work in Australia
- Availability to participate in the home's on-call roster and respond to after-hours escalations
