Salary – Clerk Grade 9/10, $129,464 - $142,665 plus superannuation and leave loading

Your role

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce re-offending and enhance community safety. As an important element of the criminal justice system, CSNSW manages remand and sentenced inmates as well as offenders in the community. The Office of the Commissioner supports the Commissioner in the delivery of strategic outcomes, operational objectives and support services.

The Office of the Commissioner is looking for an enthusiastic and team-oriented individual to support the delivery and coordination of business operations across the organisation. The Executive Officer provides a range of high-level executive support services, project management and information analysis to assist the Commissioner to address the complexities of their role and to achieve business objectives.

What you’ll do

Analyse and action requests in order to prioritise urgent and often sensitive matters and taking decisive action to facilitate the optimal use of the Commissioner’s time.
Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure deliverables are met.
Manage, prepare and review high level complex communications ensuring timeliness and accuracy to support the achievement of business requirements.
Research, analyse, collate and provide reports and information to the Commissioner to support informed decision-making and planning.
Contribute to the development of, and monitor, implement and evaluate administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and support the achievement of quality outcomes.
Provide advice and information to stakeholders on emerging issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other priorities.
Negotiating and re-prioritising own and the Commissioner’s schedule, given heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and conflicting high-level commitments and priorities.

What we’re looking for

Strong judgement and the ability to operate in high‑pressure, fast‑moving executive environments. The right candidate must be proactive, organised, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
High level of analytic and problem solving skills, and demonstrated application of discretion, professionalism and organisational awareness.
Experience in providing high level administrative support to senior executives and developing effective stakeholder relationships, as well as reviewing briefing notes, submissions, and complex communications.
Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Whilst flexible work arrangements are offered, the successful candidate is required to be in the office at least 3 days per week due to the core functions of the role.
Current NSW Drivers licence and willingness to drive and travel to perform the role, including some overnight travel.
