Pastry Chef – Viennoiserie & Laminated Pastry

In just under three incredible years, Flour has grown into a thriving, much-loved bakery supported by an enthusiastic community and a passionate team. With exciting expansion plans ahead, we are looking for talented and detail-driven Pastry Chefs to join us as we continue to refine and elevate our pastry offering.

This role is ideal for pastry professionals who thrive on precision, consistency, and craftsmanship, particularly in the world of viennoiserie and laminated pastry. About the role

Working alongside a skilled and collaborative pastry team, and reporting to the Head Pastry Chef, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and attention to detail that Flour is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

Producing high-quality viennoiserie and laminated pastries with precision and consistency
Preparing, weighing, mixing, laminating and baking pastry products to exact standards
Preparing custards, creams, curds and fillings with a strong focus on texture, finish and flavour
Demonstrating excellent finishing skills, including piping, glazing and detailed presentation work
Following recipes accurately while maintaining exceptional consistency across all products
Monitoring production flow and adjusting workflow to meet daily demand efficiently
Supporting stock management and minimising waste through careful planning and organisation
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety
Contributing to seasonal menu development and continuous product improvement

We have opportunities for Full Time and Casual Positions within a boutique, family-friendly and growing business, with exciting opportunities for development as we expand.

About you

You are a pastry chef who values discipline, precision, and consistency, with a genuine passion for laminated pastry and quality craftsmanship.

You will ideally bring:

Proven experience in viennoiserie and laminated pastry production
Strong technical pastry skills and confidence using dough sheeters and lamination equipment
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing beautifully finished products
A calm, organised and methodical approach in a fast-paced production environment
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to contribute to a team-focused culture
The ability to work independently while supporting and collaborating with the wider team
A passion for learning, refining technique, and striving for continuous improvement
Trade qualifications and 2+ years’ experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen
Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including afternoon and weekend shifts
Full Australian working rights (sponsorship is not currently available)
